THEME
-----
This NEWSDAY's theme is "Heroes"
What is a hero? Who is my hero? Answering these questions
may require a bit of contemplation. The most common conception
of a hero is probably a knight in shining armour who, mounted upon
a gallant steed, rescues the princess from distress. However
there are many other heroes with whom we may come into contact
every day without thinking about it.
A teacher who goes the extra mile, a friend who is always there
when you need them, and the brother or sister who always sticks
up for you when you find yourself in trouble...These are but a few
examples of people whom we perhaps do not associate with the word
hero. We may have more heroes than we think we do.
