If someone has a gateway in your area, this will work. But since the
gateways have just been abused, there arn't many left. There is one simple
way to see if there is a gateway near you. Get someone to send an internet
message to you on a fido bbs, and if it reaches you, one could assume there
is a gateway nearby.
