There has been a happy blitz of hiring here lately.  I myself found 2
full-time, permanent positions within 6 months of one another.  (I left the
first one to take the second one.)

On the other hand, I'm afraid our neighbors across the street in our office
park are about to turn a bunch of IT people loose.  Around 70 or so (I keep
hearing different numbers) have already gotten the word. Their release
dates vary from now until December.  I don't know exactly how many IT
people work over there, but it's a sizable shop.

The company that laid me off 2 years ago is gradually pulling out. There
were only 30 people left in Greenville proper after we were let go, and now
one of the business units is leaving in June.  The remaining business unit
is only about 12 people.  I just don't see them having a job much longer,
and one of them has already bailed out and joined us.
