First system: ECS K7VTA3, AMD 2200, Via KT333CF, VT8235.
The problem seemed to be coincident with the installation of a DVD-RW.
I have since removed the Promise card and the HDD it was running, and
replaced both opticals.

DANIDASD.DMD wait, several minutes
SDDHELP.SYS wait
CACHEF32.EXE wait, another wait after it's report
NETBIND.EXE wait
PPS731B.EXE wait
Line 240 not valid; Run mididmon
OpenSem failed
PMSHELL.EXE; OS/2 not Proc. Cmdr. PC has been removed.
Wait, after several minutes, blinking cursor upper left corner. CAD no
effect.

What would you have me REM?

Backleveled S506 to 150, boot OK. I tried several 16x and 17x. No go.

Second system: MachSpeed P4M800, P4 2.95, Via P4M800, VT8237R.
The problem is much simpler; it can't find the HDD. Same fix; backlevel
to 150. I did not try anything between 150 and 175.

On the second system I cannot get DOS to run with a memory manager.

No

No understanding of that subject possessed here.

Can we count all the systems where the eCS installer can't handle the HDD?
