LP>Why should you or society at your behest have any say in or
LP>authority to prohibit an adult's use of marijuana for either
LP>medicinal or recreational purposes?
LP>Why should your or society have any authority to prohibit an
LP>adult's self-administration of marijuana for medicinal purposes,
LP>as is done, for example, with alcohol and ibuprofen (which was
LP>formerly only available by prescription as Motrin)?
LP>What does this possibility have to do with anything? Even assuming
LP>for the purpose of debate that marijuana should be controlled, the
LP>possiblity that a person might do an unpermitted act with it does
LP>not justify prohibiting it entirely. The logic underlying your
LP>statement would justify absolutely prohibiting any useful thing
LP>(all prescription drugs, cars, weapons, gasoline) just because
LP>someone might do something illegal with it. Do you really want to
LP>live in a country that treats all adult citizens as (except
LP>government employees) though they should be presumed to be
LP>irresponsible and criminals?
LP>I have no knowledge regarding the source of marijuana for the first
LP>prescriptions that will be written for it. Since it has been illegal
LP>to grow it, I would guess that it will be illegally grown marijuana
LP>like what is sold on the street -- just like what has been sold at
LP>the medicinal marijuana buyers' clubs.
Do you know what should be done though. Marijuana if it has to be
legalized for anything, it will have to be legalized for stress. When I
smoked marijuana before ILLEGALLY it really did take all the stress away
from everything, and made everything better. It also made me more
responsible, but it won't do the same for all people. I have a strong
head on my shoulders and I know right from wrong. When I smoke
marijuana, I don't just do it for fun. I do it to RELAX. That is a good
way to legalize marijuana.
