I have tried that, I go into (Insert) "Date and Time", select the date
style I want and it prints:  April 16, 1997.
Then I go down further in the document and select the tool button and it
prints:  04/16/97.
I have even tried selecting the tool button after selecting the (Insert)
"Date and Time" and before.  Neither works.  
Have you tried this on your system, does it work?
