The NEWCASTLE SCANNER GROUP was originally formed in 1990, to cater for 
scanner enthusiasts in the Newcastle, Central Coast and Hunter Valley 
regions.  We also cater for SHORTWAVE LISTENERS World Wide with what is
believed to be the lowest membership rates in Australia and the South
Pacific!
What can we offer?
* Bi-monthly Newsletters (yes, plural):  We produce TWO bi-monthly 
newsletters - one for the Scanner Division and one for our Shortwave
Division.  This means that we are not trying to cram information on
HF, VHF and UHF frequencies into one newsletter!  Whilst our newsletter
may not be as large and fancy as some others, we don't list endless
loggings of what you COULD have heard TWO months ago!
* FREE help and information:  Whether it be Scanner related or Shortwave
related, members can obtain totally free help or advice, any time.  
* FREE Frequency information:  Many scanner frequency lists, and even 
HF lists, are out of date before you even get them, so why waste the money?
Members can obtain FREE OF CHARGE information on the VHF/UHF frequencies
used by local emergency services and other interesting services, or lists
of Australian HF frequencies or updates on the HF scene, all upon request.
* Encouragment Awards:  NSG has several awards available to Shortwave and
Scanner enthusiasts for various accomplishments.  These are aimed at getting
enthusiasts that little bit more involved.  Non-members pay a small fee for
the issue of each award, but members receive them FREE OF CHARGE.
* MORE TO COME!  As new members join or suggestions come in from existing
members, we will add to the benefits of membership.  The main idea of this
Group is to allow enthusiasts to SHARE information and findings amongst
each other - in other words, send in your latest findings or contributions
to share so we can keep the newsletters, etc, full of information for
everyone to enjoy.
