[edited from a fax I sent to Telstra and Motorola ISG]

I tried calling the Motorola ISG bbs, +1 508 261 1058 between 1:30 and 2:00
am Monday CST 29 January 1996 (UTC +10:30), from both my bbs line, (08) 370
2133 (which is on Faxstream), and my spare line (08) 370 2042.

As as I know the Motorola ISG bbs uses a Motorola Codex 3265 Fast V.34
modem, the same model that I was using to call.

Call attempts (preselection is with Telstra):

From Using Result
08 370 2133 0011 Training Failure
08 370 2133 0015 Training Failure
08 370 2133 0019 16800/16800 bps connection

08 370 2042 0011 16800/9600 bps connection which retrained
08 370 2042 0015 Training Failure
08 370 2042 0019 16800/16800 bps connection

This is not good! It appears that the signal boost caused by using
Faxstream and/or 0015 is contributing training failures (a very harsh
sound with the LCD front panel indicating "Lineprobing" instead of the
normal V.34 handshake).

Any clues?
