Ugh!? Schemes and looks only are important for people sending their
messages in html. Why on Earth would you want to change "schemes"
or whatever if prior to that you had taken the option "do not
convert".

If  you change/alter/whatever schemes, you are saying you want your
messages in html, and then it's rather obvious your affairs are set to
html. You should blame yourself then, not Yahoo.
