MR> I presume it's the CD you've got, right? Anyway, I should preface my
MR> comments here by saying that I don't have the "Rolling Stones Rock &
oll
MR> Circus" - either on video or CD. According to the information I do have
MR> though, it was taped in early December 1968. So it would seem that the
MR> date you noted above is likely in U.S. rather than U.K. format meaning
t
MR> was December 11th, 1968.
MR> A brief Jethro Tull bio I have here says that Mick Abrahams' last
MR> session with the band was in November 1968. (FWIW, the earliest session
MR> that I can be relatively sure of Martin Barre's participation on is the
MR> recording of the song, "Living in the Past" in February 1969).
MR> The N.M.E. (New Musical Express) Encyclopedia of Rock Music (a British
MR> publication) states that Tony Iommi was filling in on guitar with Jethro
MR> Tull on the date of the Rolling Stones show.
MR> It's quite possible that my information is incorrect, but based on
ast
MR> experience, I'd be just as inclined to question the liner notes on the
MR> disc. The dates are pretty close and it would be somewhat
nderstandable
MR> for the writer of the notes to assume that Abrahams was still with the
MR> band without actually checking.
MR>
MR> Of course, anyone who has the recently released video and is familiar
MR> with either Abrahams or Iommi might be able to confirm this for us. ;-)
MR>
MR> Cheers,
MR> Martin
After reading this you gave me the idea of checking the liner notes for a
picture of Jethro Tull, and sure enough, there he is, Tony Iommi in all his
glory. It's amazing how little he has changed in thirty years. I like to be
accurate and I appreciate you pinting this out.

BIll
