I've recently delivered a 1020P-RT (dual Opteron with SATA RAID-5) to a
client... impressive little beasts - like the Tyan B2881, but includes
a floppy drive and redundant hot-swap power.

The onboard SATA controller is a ServerWorks HT1000 and does NOT take
well to newer SATA-300 hard drives, so if you go building one of these,
I *highly* recommend you locate a supply of older SATA-150 drives, like
I had to do.

Video is the usual ATI RAGE XL chipset, but sadly, I didn't get a
chance to try it out for eCS compatibility with the rest of the
components - it's already installed at a co-location facility and
acting as a database server for a company in Japan.

Hopefully, I won't be so time-crunched next time (since I won't have
all the hardware compatibility issues with the hard drives to resolve!)
and will get a chance to take it for a spin. I'll be sure to post the
results (and benchmarks).

Note that the system does NOT come with heat sinks for the Opteron
CPU's... at least, I didn't find any in the box!

If you're looking on SuperMicro's site for these - you won't find them
off the main page... so as not to poke the sleeping Intel bear, they're
only available if you know where to go:

Hope this helps.
