I really don't see how the WXGA 11.1" and 13.1" Sony laptops I was playing with at Office Depot the other day could possibly be considered suitable for watching widescreen movies. Widescreen movies come in several aspect ratios. 16:9 is only one of them, and won't get you all the way there with CinemaScope or Cinerama. >>It might also be that driver math at 1.6:1 is simpler than at >>1.777777777777777777777:1. > That doesn't have anything to do with it... the standard modes are 1.333333333:1. Like I wrote, "might". I'm just speculating "out loud" until someone can come up with something concrete, probably has nothing to do with it regardless of that math. Do video drivers work with 64 bits, or even 32? I think it easily might not be as easy as 1.7777777 vs 1.3333333 as one might think due to pixel rounding math. The latter ratio is a function of the octal single digit integers 4:3, possibly much less bit hungry than the 16:9 of the former. 16:10 (8:5) is more like 4:3 than 16:9. -- "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
