The reality of most blog use is that the people using them don't find their
views reflected In the mass media, so they gravitate to the blogs that
reflect their views. Almost the definition of blogs is that they exist to
reflect the opinions of the fringe types. Birds of a feather and all that.

But then what is the point of participating in a blog where most everyone
has the same take on issues?  It is rather like going up and down the bar
until you finally find someone who agrees with your take on things. Once
you have found him, what then?  Pointless.  As pointless as blogs.
