DD> Mr Speed's Supra can only manage to connect here at 14,400.
RB> And All the SupraFaxModem 288i V.34 modems that I have had go though my
RB> hands in the last 12 months, have been tested on Dave Drummond's USR and
RB> never failed to connect at 288800 solidly.
RB> Is Rods Supra a VFC only or a Supra Express.
It's a V32bis modem, I don't know the model number.
PE>> 6. A Spirit Thunder is getting connects with me at 2400 bps
PE>> far more often than 19200. 1200 bps connects too.
DD> You user has modem illiteracy ptoblems. He is setting Telix to swap
DD> baudrates.
RB> If the users are using a telix older that 3.22, It does not have error
RB> levels
RB> for anything over 14400 (I think) and will report a 24000 connect as 2400
RB> and
RB> a 31200 connect as a 1200 connect. In these cases DON'T BLAME USR.
I was using the results of my binkley.log to determine that.
The user is probably using 3.15, and he is running a locked
com port. The user in fact does not even see the connect
baud rate, he has to tell from the CPS rates what he connected
at. It's irrelevant, I use my binkley.log to determine the
baud rate.
PE>> 7. USR to USR connect failed due to a retrain failure.
PE>> Also, USR to USR is showing 21600/2400 as the connect rate.
RB> Probably Telix again or some pre 28800 program.
RB> What about the error levels in your BBS/Bink softwaare
1200, 2400, 19200. BFN. Paul.
