LM>MV>Kubek Band - featuring Bnois King. I stayed for the long first set
I had to pass on this past Thursday's Blues show at the same venue. A
band called T-Model Ford (nods to Lightnin' Hopkins) was opening for R.L.
Burnside. The cover was 7 bucks for this one--the ad saying that they'd
driven all the way up from Mississippi. I've heard of Burnside, and I
wanted to go, but couldn't round up any cronies. A 3-buck cover would've
carried the day.
I should've been doing much more playing during my recuperation period
here. Too much re-fi and Olympics. The Strat's feeling real good and
I'm motivated--just had my priorities screwed up. But (re: your comment
in another post) all the guitars have new strings exc. the National.
The re-fi money will bring a couple of good guitar stands and some wall
hangers (another highly-complex project).
