When you chide Muslims for what other Muslims did, they always say

When you chide Christians for what other Christians did, they always say
"But they weren't REAL Christians."

The fact is, France, Spain, England and Germany were all nations with long
Christian traditions, and many of the men who persecuted Jews considered
themselves Christians.  Churches in Germany were full of men during and
after the war who had participated in the Holocaust.

We can't hide our long history of abusing the Jews by denying that somehow
the character of entire nations changed overnight and their Christian
tradition simply vanished like a puff of smoke.
