have any direct involvement in day-to-day operations now," he said.
"Before we made that decision we did study the situation and found

The New Brunswick Department of Economic Development was unavailable
for comment on efforts to attract Corel.

of Connections Nova Scotia, said he thinks Mr. Cowpland's interest
is very promising.

Mr. Smith was also pleased to hear that companies like Corel are now
considering Nova Scotia when they think of call centres. "We're
delighted to hear he's picked up the message of the East Coast.
"But I don't think this is flying along at a million miles an hour,"
he added.
Mr. Cowpland's expansion of customer support centres will likely

currently dominates the word-processing and office software industry
in North America.
