Dell can pack and ship more cheaply than anybody. And afford to lose
money getting the truck to out to you in the countryside. An expensive
fact of life wrt ebay resellers. 

I'd assumed there was a computer shop in Penn Yann or Ithaca which
collected stuff from business off-lease. Or a church-based opportunity
shop.

Should you buy a used business Dell, be sure it comes with a NIC, unless
you have extras in your parts box. Some don't.
