subject: Renaissance

M> The original Renaissance featured ex-Yardbirds Keith Relf (vocals,
M> guitar, harmonica) and Jim McCarty (drums, percussion, vocals). The
M> band also featured Keith's sister Jane Relf (vocals, percussion);
M> Louis Cennamo (bass guitar); and John Hawken (keyboards).
I forgot Cennamo was on this. He was big in the Captain Beyond/
Armageddon/Steamhammer axis.
The line-up is
M>the same, but this album features the first appearance of writers
M>Mick Dunford and Betty Thatcher. Dunford plays guitar on one of his
M>compositions as well.
This is the first time I've heard anyone explain the link between the 2
bands (other than the name). Never heard _Illusion_ (or seen it,
obviously).
M> This was the last Renaissance album I bought. It was not at all
M>the same sound as what I had loved in the 70s. There may have been
M>one more after that - I'm not sure. But if it exists, I'd only have
M>a passing interest in it anyway - just to complete a collection. ;-)
It's called _Timeline_. There are also 2 different versions of the band
today, one with Annie and one without.
