In 95, the grandson and I were scheduled to fly but he had
his appendix out the night before... After the operation,
his dad took his place. Then in 1996, he and I got a flight
together though the weather was very marginal.
They have a nice program for riders. about 10 or 15 minutes
each in left seat with pictures and such. If desired, time
entered in log book.
Aluminum Overcast was here last week. It got better tv and
newspaper coverage this time and has a good load list for
two days. Grandson and I went out again to just LOOK... The
pilot was retired UAL captain, Verne Jobst. He is a director
of the National Association of Flight Instructors. He started
with Capitol Airlines and once flew with my old B-17, WW II
copilot, Merle Black. It is a small world.
He borrowed my WW II Bombardiers Information File so the EAA
could have a copy. They are quite rare. Lots of PIFs but I have
yet to see another copy of BIF around. It was not printed
until March 1945. Lots of good WW II bomber information in
it.
