Try copying the files to another drive, directory or another filename, then
try to access them with Autocad. I've done this a couple of times with ascii
files under dos and the result files end up okay.
One needs to run some disk utilities to optimize one's disk and keep all
files contiguous so that fragmention is reduced and the possibly of
cross-linking by power outages is reduced. Saving current drawings regularly
during an editing session is also good, not deleting the *.bak files is a
good idea.
