Hello KEN, I wish to discuss with you the merits of "RE:ET's would visit 
us..."...

Only Nuclear Fission, if we had Nuclear Fusion power, /then/ i would probably 
expect them to visit us openly.
 
KK> 2)  We are doing HGP Human Genome Project. We are beginning to know our
KK>     own DNA and we're now Cloning.
The cloning process is /very/ primitive.  True cloning and cloning that would 
actually be groundbreaking, would be to create an exact physical copy, 
complete with all memories intact of a living being.
All we can do at the moment is, in effect, make 'twins' artificially.
KK> 3)  We are beginning to use Internet, which breaks down our countries
KK>     ties to us. We are beginning to break down the Tribal Warfare which
KK>     our counties have relied on for so long.
The internet is slow, dominated with commercial sites and full of sleazy sex 
sites- something aliens would i'm sure consider primeval almost.
KK> 4)  We are beginning to use Nanotechnology. We have yet to produce an
KK>     assembler but we're trying.
Granted.
KK> 5)  We're using Neural Networks to solve some our problems, but it's
KK>     only resident in a few of our computers.  We have to change our
KK>     computers, per se, to reflect Neural Network philosophies. Enter
KK>     American Computer Corp.
Again granted, but we still aren't harnessing the power of real living 
ssue.
Also, we still have wars, we still have great fears of the unknown, there's 
still a sizable proportion of people that have 'third-world' lives, we still 
have racial hatred- (if there's hatred between different types of human, can 
you immagine how racists would feel towards aliens?), we have fashion, we 
have trends, both of which are, in practicle terms useless.  We don't think 
of what our children will do in the future, we aren't thinking of new ways to 
make electricity without the need for fossil fuels, we only use 1/10th of our 
brain, we don't all speak the same language- also a load of people don't 
actually want to speak the same language, we don't have one world government, 
we pollute everything, we still use primitive rocket technology, we have poor 
legal systems, we still have crime.  There are many more things we do wrong 
which i could comment on, but won't since some will probably offend some 
people!  Anyway, there are far too many reasons why aliens won't want to make 
contact with us, then why they should.
