De "Open Dag" is bedoeld om mensen kennis te laten maken met de radio hobby 
en om een grotere bekendheid aan de Benelux DX-Club te geven. De "Open Dag" 
wordt door BDXC-leden vaak gebruikt om andere leden,redacteuren en/of 
bestuursleden te ontmoeten (The "Open Dag" is primarely intended to give 
public notice of the radio listening hobby and to get people acquainted with 
the Benelux DX-Club. This day is also used by many members to meet other 
members, editors ... yes, I (Jan Nieuwenhuis) will be there :-) ... and/or 
board members).
 
Onderwerpen waar onder andere aandacht aan besteed wordt (Subjects which will 
be payed attention to):
 
- Kortegolf-ontvangst van omroepstations en ontvangst-verificatie
  (Short Wave reception of broadcast stations and verification). - Het volgen 
van vliegtuigen over de Atlantische Oceaan (Tracking
  aircraft en-route over the North Atlantic).
- Radio/TV-DX en internet als informatiebron (Radio/TV-DX and The
  Internet as a source of information).
- Het gebruik van de computer als hulpmiddel bij de luister/kijk-hobby
  (Using a computer to assist the radio amateur).
- Het ontvangen en decoderen van telex- en faxsignalen (Reception and
  decoding of RTTY & FAX).
- Oude radio's tegenover de modernste ontvangers (Old radio's compared
  to New Radio's).
- De ontvangst van TV-stations uit ver weg gelegen landen (Reception
  of TV-station from abroad).
- De TV-documentaire "Lifeline"; van de RVU over het belang van
  omroepstations op de kortegolf (TV-documentary 'Lifeline' from the
  RVU, about the importance of broadcasting stations on Short Wave. - 
Informatie over Wereldomroep Nederland (Information about Radio
  Netherlands).
- Informatie over de Vereniging van Zendamateurs (VRZA) (Information
  about the Dutch Assocation of Radio Transmitting Amateurs [VRZA]). - De 
ledenservice met veel boeken en ander materiaal (The
  memberservice with a lot of books and other material).
