Indeed it is Adam's ignorance, ignorance of American practice. Only a
computer geek or a Brit would use HST when referring to Truman. Americans
don't share the
Brit habit of abbreviating just about anything, even people's names.
Especially out of context, very few here would recognize HST as referring
to Truman.
