Make sure your drive with data is the first drive and configured as the 
"primary" connect and configure the second drive as the
"secondary". The 
primary synchronises its data to the secondary, not the other way around.

This is assuming you are using RAID-1 (Mirroring), creating a Raid-0 
(striped) array would destroy any data on both drives.
