  Indeed they are...   I've used it for some programs toss fidonet packets,
which I adapted from what someone else put together.  Don't have the toss
to packets working yet, but toss from them to a message does work;  also
have several other packet readers ( pkt2txt, pkt2html, pkt2xml) that I
and/or Russ have been working on...

   Copies of them were hatched out in the perlscr file echo; & of course
they're available here via freq, ftp, or http...
