M> Cool. I'll go looking for that one! So, how was the show? I
M>haven't seen Brand X `live' since about 1978 or 1979! ;-(
It wasn't Brand X (I was there). It was an LA group called Turnaround,
and they mostly played rocknroll. It was a major letdown, though
Goodsall was fucking amazing as always. We saw a different edition of
Turnaround (they have a fairly plastic lineup, with several different
guitarists and bass players and singers and) once. Before ProgFest '95
they were at the Barnsdall theater. They played a couple songs I
could've lived without, but the set was mostly great fusion, featuring
John's world-class solos.
He's a pretty friendly individual, esp. at 2am after a crappy bar gig
(featuring a guy who wanted to hear some LYNYRD SKYNYRD, dood).
