You misunderstood that reference. One of the reasons the CIA withdrew its people
from the prison was becasue it feard what a bunch of hillbilly guards would
do if allowed to use warming up techniques.

Wrong again, Geo. It was an Army prison, the Army ran it. The paticular
wings you are referring to were run by the Army Intelligence people, in
contrast to the rest of the prison run by MPs.

The resigning for family reasons is the usual excuse used when people are forced
out. It is a face saving thing. There is no announcement of firing and when
the person is obviously too young to be retiring, leaving for family
reasons is standard spin. It is a very, very old practice, often used in
private industry as well.
