subject: Telstra business rates for BBS`es

As you all should have seen by now, the mooted letter disclaiming the
intent to charge business rates for BBS systems regardless has arrived, at
least in some instances. The text seems reasonable, as does the prima
facie intent.

However, at least in my case, what they actually did was to convert the
entire establishment to business lines - the mail hub, the no-charge BBS,
and my personal dial-out modem line that runs nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this particular action? Check your bills please?

What I'm going to do about this depends at least in part on what's been
done to the rest of our membership.

Yoo-Hoo... anyone else now being charged business rates after having been
promised that this would NOT be done?

Regards,
Dave Hatch.
