Eddie,
Fuel ain't so expensive, about 20$ a gallon..35% nitro..the fuel is
relatively fresh ( of the month )..
As for luck in flying..well I do have my glider pilot license and
understand the fundamentals quite well..
My first trainer was a cox .049 EZ-BEE II, although small but very
forgiving..made of styrofoam it's agile and inexpensive to fix if anything
happens. ( flies at about 35-50 MPH ) in light winds.
Next I bumped up to a Hobbico Superstar 40, flew that a while and
then decided to switch on heli's cause the places to fly are restricted.
Basically I like a challenge, and heli's are a handfull, fun but
demand a concentration that surpasses fltying planes.
Make your own fuel ?? sounds risky..you must do a lot of bench runs
to make sure that the equation is perfect or else.....engine failure of some
sort.
If you are on the NET or AOL drop me a line

Safe flying
