Why bother to run multiple instances of wget?
I put the URL complete into a list_file and let wget get each one in sequence.
It puts each file into a single directory that I nominate on the command
line. The only disadvantage I have is that the wget display is either to the
screen or a file - I have it pointed to the screen. You could run a "tee"
program to direct the output to both screen and a file if you want.
You could run multiple instances each running their own list_file if the sites
are running slow. I've done that a couple of times.
