Don't prune with a heavy hand, Ack, until you know whether or not your
vines fruit on older wood. That may solve your problem.

Even a Sicilian woman with bad aim would become a sharpshooter if you
actually mangled her fancy stemware and china. Dare I suggest you
stick to ordinary dishes and volunteer for greasy pots and pans?
You'll come out smelling like a rose, and you'll have the secret
relief that any broken china can be laid at her Sicilian feet. (But I
also advise not speaking that aloud. Bite your lip and retreat to your
grape arbor. :-))

Other than hitting a deer very early in the am, and causing such minor
damage to us both that we almost didn't report it (good thing we did -
that minor damage is now about $800 worth!), we did. Saw a couple
grandkids for the first time in 4 years, and they couldn't believe how
short I've gotten. (They've grown at least a foot apiece.) It was good
to go, good to get home. :-)
