I looked at Microsofts free WTEN offer as being like the Apple tied to a
string on a pole that was held over the donkeys head and just a tiny BIT
farther away than the donkey's tongue could touch it.

I had one big problem with Thunderbird when several thousand messages in
the In-Box got cleared out after I compacted TB.
It didn't do that the several times I compacted messages before, but it sure
did it that day.

I still use TB, I just move messages out of the In-Box to other Boxes I've
made for them.

If You are speaking of MALWAREBYTES, they have a Free and a Paid version.
I use the Free and manually update the Definitions as I want to, the Paid
version does that automagically.

Recently I read that AVAST! owns AVG now.
