Actually, I consider the novels better than the TV versions that have come
out in the past several years.  The first Morse TV shows were quite good,
but there's now a different writer who just can't capture Morse's irascible
personality.
Many of the TV shows are not based on Dexter's novels, but are "based on
characters created by Dexter."  That weakens the TV shows in my estimation.
I also enjoy PRIME SUSPECT.  I've heard that this recent one, PS5, was the
last one.  Have you heard anything about that?
