Irrespective of how it's handled by LVM, if you can see the new drive it
means that USBMSD.ADD does its job fairly well. Your next step may
involve something like DFSEE (I still use pure DOS with Norton
Utilities) to (1) walk through the drive to ensure that it's readable
throughout its full capacity, and (2) to tweak the partitioning,
attempting to make it palatable both for the player's firmware and for
LVM in OS/2. I hope the player is foolproof enough to withstand all
kinds of partitioning mishaps.

That's not as surprising - IBM/Exigen were careful to make USB FDDs
resemble the "legacy" FDDs as close as possible. On a floppyless laptop,
my experience is totally positive so far - connecting/disconnecting a
USB FDD is no more cumbersome than changing a diskette.
