We'll return to Nick Shreders and PHIL ROBERTS's
discussion of Win95
NS> Why not look into the several fine internet apps that are mode for
 NS> OS/2?
One good reason: Several are just not available. I use OS/2 apps
where:
1. They are available
2. They are comfortable to work with.
Otherwise, I settle for the Win 3.x "next best".
For example, I use the Netscape beta, which is excellent. I also
frequently use OS/2's FTP and telnet utilities (or to be real snazzy, a
terminal program running under Vmodem). I've tried a few IRC clients,
but none suit me as well as mIRC or PIRCH for Windows do. I also prefer
Windows based mail clients (e.g. Eudora).
Other apps that I use are completely unavailable under OS/2, like voice
chat programs and other more recent innovations. Fortunately, someone
had written a GSM DLL, which should make voice chat under OS/2
commonplace soon. :-) Any programmers out there?
Increasingly, new applications are coming out as Windows 95 only. If I
was a programmer, I'd try and fix that problem, but unfortunately, I'm
not. :-(
... If all else fails, read the manual, unless it
