Thanks.  This monitor is a Micron, made by Panasonic.  Don't really
know of it's quality but I feel Panasonic is not an 'el cheapo'.  I
did get it off of eBay several years ago so who knows, it may have
been an iffy monitor when it went up for sale.  It's been very good
to me for several years.  I don't really want to spring for a new
monitor but wouldn't mind a flat screen so I can keep the temps in
my room lower in the summer.

I did try Felix's suggestion to drop the resolution and have yet to
try the scitech utility suggestion.  Sometimes it takes time for
this problem to develop so I'm not sure if the resolution change
helped or not.
