In a lot of instances, the problem area seems to be the NIC, though that's not fatal - I don't have any immediate need for Gigabit speeds, so I can always add a 10/100 card if I really have to. Much nicer to be able to use what's onboard if possible. > You can find reviews of all kinds of hardware for eCS in the hardware > section of http://www.ecomstation.ru (incl mine about an ASRock board). > For the MB I choose the ASUS A8N-E, mainly because I wanted an AMD > Athlon 64 processor (socket 939) and SATA-2, and I found some good > reviews there. I had a look at the reviews. Its a pity more data isn't held on the items - knowing what areas were problamatic would be useful. Still, it does give a lot of useful information. As to the Asus, it seems to be getting good press. I had problems with Asus MBs a few years ago and have steered clear of them since, but it looks as though that may be the way to go now.
