A very interesting observation; after David's excellent connects, I
netmailed him as to which version SDL he is using. Using the same version
(5 July both Supervisor and DSP), the signal strength goes up to -13dB! So
they definitely nobbled the Supervisor in the later version! Will leave it
at that version and see how it works longer term.

Looks like it's the Supervisor code that is restricting the signal level;
anyone willing to try writing new code? :)

I assume that's with the newer SDL; *but* I think that is only if the
Supervisor code allows it...

Yes I did, thanks. I thought you'd have received my reply by now, unless
it's fallen off the end. Currently there is no point doing so until my
cable gets planted; I'm still waiting...
