I have to cast one big negative vote, unfortunately.
We have an Asus K8V-MX m/b with an AMD Sempron 2600 CPU in a
non-OS/2 system (yeah, I'll 'fess up, it's WinXP but that's not the
issue). It runs wonderfully. Recently we needed to add a second
sound device (SoundBlaster card) for a specialized control application
that should be run on a separate sound card.
Guess what - the system didn't recognize two cards. After a bit of
hemming and hawing, Asus admitted that their m/bs do not accept
multiple sound devices. Looks like we'll have to reconfigure the
application to use a "shared" sound device, which is not easy to do
when it runs 24/7.
My OS/2 system runs on an Abit KD7 m/b with an AMD Athlon 1800 CPU.
If this will accept a second sound device I may just switch operating
systems and rn OS/2 on the faster machine!
No good deed goes unpunished.....
