One good thing about putting offending websites in the restricted zone (and
disabling everything in the restricted zone) is that it does take *
wildcards in some ways. It takes ? marks too, but I'm not sure if it uses
them as wildcards or just a ?. I know it uses the * as a wildcard becomes
it comes with some entries that use them. Downside, if any, is that with
sites like Drudge, you have to put drudge itself in the restricted zone to
stop it from using scripts that call ads from sites already in the
restricted zone. Putting Drudge in the restricted zone with everything
disabled in that zone, causes the banner ad at the top of the page not to
display. Doesn't seem to effect anything else. Maybe that's not so bad
after all.
I've got your hosts thing working for me too. Really appreciate that.
