Hi Barry,
They probably would close off a lot of seats if the Haks played in
the Georgia Dome. They do the same thing in the Pontiac Silverdome
for the Detroit Pistons. I don't know about any NBA crowd limit
though. It stands to reason that they would want the biggest crowds
they could get. Witness the exhibition games that are play outside
the United States every year, thet are all packed. I think David
Stern is the best marketer of any of the commissioners of any of the
major sports. Of course baseball doesn't really have a commissioner
anymore.
Ross Perot Jr. is threatening to pull the Dallas Mavericks out of
Dallas if the city doesn't agree to "his" terms on a new sports
arena. There is talk that he is using this to blackmail the city
into the taxpayers footing most of the bill. This pit the Dallas
Stars directly against the Mavericks and the city as well. I don't
want the Mavericks or the Stars to move to the suburbs but, I hope
the city of Dallas holds their ground.
Your Friend,
John
