Hello Harvey:
concerning the ability of any of us to influence the course of events in
the nfb, we all have the right to try to do that. this is also the case
with the republican party or the democrats. try being a liberal
republican in the house of representatives nowadays and see how many
things go your way. what you really are complaining about is the fact
that the present leaders don't do what you or maybe some others wish they
would do. joanne wilson came to power by defeating the leaders in power
at that time. I know this to be a fact because i was there. i can also
remember when she couldn't get elected because others in that affiliate
had the power. she was smart enough politically to get the votes and get
elected. since that time she has been smart enough to do the things that
most people like enough to keep electing her. she will be unelected when
someone gets enough of a following of members who does not like what is
going on. one thing i know for sure, is that, if you are trying to get
that following for yourself, you won't get it by spending your time
writing to this list. politics is a rough business. you have to get in
the game and be smart to win, not sit on the sidelines and throw rocks.
you will never reform the affiliate that way. you have to be seen as part
of it, not separate from it to win.
thanks,
J. g.
