The BBS is up 24 hours, although user access is not allowed during Fidonet
Zone Mail Hour (currently 4:00-4:59 am CDT). Last Saturday night, much of
the state had electrical problems connected with a severe storm. One of the
main 115 kV feeders into the state failed, and we had 70 volts or so coming
out of the wall for almost 15 minutes. Lots of motors caught fire, although
I quickly pulled the main breakers and I had no damage personally. The BBS
computer is entirely protected by a UPS which shifted to battery and caused
the computer to do an orderly shutdown. Now you know why the BBS was
off-line!
