Once you are forced into the situation you have to think differently than you do now.

The right thing to do is to stop killing people. Once the killing starts
then the right thing to do is whatever it takes to end the killing. All the
rules we have to make war more acceptable are counterproductive because
well ... because they make war more acceptable.

That's one of the biggest problems we have right now, we weren't afraid to
go to war in Iraq. When you don't fear war then it becomes a solution for
problems where you haven't exhausted all other possible solutions yet.
