I noticed a little problem using The Semware Editor on a Novell
network. On this type of network you have the salvage command to get
back a deleted file. If you edit a file in TSE and save it, you can
not get back the old file. Of course you could activitite the .bak
mechanism. I don't like that mechanism:
- lot of .bak files everywhere (may be I am doing something wrong)
- only the last copy of your changes is saved.
That's why I trusted Novell's salvage utility
We looked i little further on this problem. It seems that files are
opened in Read/Write open mode. That's why you can not salvage the
file. This mode is very useful for databases, but not for my
program's. If you open a file in Write mode you can salvage the
file.
Combinations of software with other software are allways difficult.
It is very likely that i am totally wrong. I hope that anybody can
help me with this little thing.
Thanks in advance
