"Unshielded Twisted Pair". If you were planning on buying two to
share files, networking printing or play Doom, you're probably better off
not bothering. You would be better off with thinnet/coax cards, because
then you can string as many as you want together (up to about 30, a total
distance of about 180m) without buying a hub. A hub is a device which
connects UTP network cards together, and is needed for >2 machines (and
2 machines doesn't work well at all without them).
