Subject: Duplicate Messages
I have received a number of private messages concerning duplicate messages
on the NFB Talk and Blind Talk conferences/lists. This is such a message.
I am posting it to both groups because what I say needs to be said in both
groups.
NFB Talk and Blind Talk are intended for different purposes. There will be
times when it is appropriate to post a message to both groups. I for one do
so for NFB official announcements, legislative alerts, Braille Monitor
Announcements, etc. I do ask you to consider before posting to both groups.
While the subscriber lists are not exactly identical, they are more alike
than different.
NFB Talk is intended for the discussion of NFB-related matters of interest
to Federationists and our friends. Topics might include our philosophy,
conventions, training centers, etc. Blind Talk, on the otherhand, is
intended for more general blindness-related discussions. Here is where we
should discuss computers and technology, etc.
If you have any questions, please write me privately at
david.andrews@nfbnet.org or dandrews@visi.com.
