DR> I'm glad to hear from you! Someone on S&Q said they heard
DR> from you email (maybe it was Pat Knox?) so that was good
DR> news. So you managed to sneak in school to boot? Wow, you
DR> are amazing! :)
Not amazing... tired !
DR> Marvelous...homeschooler and piano teacher too. Aren't you fortunate!
DR> I love the Alfred books - will be looking forward to hearing what
DR> she uses for Amanda. (I love the Alfred Prep for my younger
DR> ones, but have also used Bastien Young Beginners series
DR> with success. I sorta stick with Alfred since my flashcards
DR> go along with both Alfred Lesson Books as well as the prep
DR> series, and some of the same pieces are in both series.)
Alfred for Melody and Bastien for Amanda. The books look lovely.
Had to change our plans and their first lesson will be next Tuesday.
I picked up a set of Alfred's Basic Piano Library Flashcards Levels
1a/1b at a yard sale last Sat. for 50cents. Don't know that they're
something I'll use, but snatched them on the chance they might be
later.... I also got a red plastic pull sled for Amanda and
Margaret to ride in when it snows (next week or so ).
Actually, we've already had flurries here - the day the movers
brought my household!!! It was mixed with rain and sleet and didn't
stick though. The weather here is very changeable. We'll be going
on a homeschool field trip on Thurs. pm - and 1800's train ride
(coal burner!). Don't know if we'll learn anything but it should be
fun. Our history book is at Native Americans. We found the local
library yesterday and I got a stack of good books of legends and the
like for us to read as supplements. Each of the older girls got
their own library card as well. I think we'll be happy here. I've
got to quit yakking and get some work done! TTYL!
Theresa
... I am strong! I am woman! I am tired!!
