Silvetone 1481 guitar amp. Similar to Fender Champ in size and
tubes. Uses one 6V6, one 12AX7, and a 6V4 rectifier. Not as loud
as a Champ. Vinyl covering worn at the corners but grillcloth is
in good shape. Buyer pays actual shipping charges in addition to
purchase price. Email for pictures.
Above is the add I placed on the net at the Ebay auction yesterday. I
set a reserve (i.e., min acceptable bid) of $30 which I felt was fair.
It is a tube amp after all. I started the bidding at $10.
Much to my surprise, the first bid was $30 (the bidders don't know the
reserve price) and came within 2 hours. By 11 Sat night, the bid was
$51.50. Logged in this morning and there is a $107.50 bid and none of
the bidders has even emailed me to ask for pictures!
I'm starting to feel guilty. Do you think my description is fair? I
certainly didn't play it up as a "cool little tube practice amp" or
other nonsense. I admitted it isn't as loud as a Champ. I didn't feel
obligated to call it a cheap imitation of a Fender, caveat emptor and
all that.
What do you guys think? Have I mispresented this thing in any way.
